Well as some of you told the stories of their maps: I had the idea of two fortresses confronting. Nothing new you could say, but its a little bigger than capture_night, and will be divided by a great canyon filled with water on ground, surrounded by mountain walls. Textures will be a bit like turbine, although i thought of creating some textures of my own. Windecker pls tell me if this is a problem. I hope to get the map without using any mapmodels, although i try to build them on the cube engine myself, as i have already done by making swords, that would be fun to use instead of chainsaw. (maybe one gets interested and implements it in next release?) The two fortresses will be bound together with three bridges. My work on this map is more the texturing and cubing. Kimu will do the lights, and add some ideas to the flow of play and layout. Yesterday i added clip to some of the details in hope to get rid of glitches which could ruin the flow, when you get stuck and cant move anymore. I am glad to see that some great mappers have joined, so that in the end i can see how my work is rated in relation to them. Cu and have as much fun as Kimu and me.

Seems like you also have a lot of work to do... Make sure not everything is just brown, that would make the map boring. Have a contrast in it.
Make sure players can't hit the ceilings of hallways/door/room/areas. It would kill the flow and gameplay.

A little update of work. We are almost finished. Kimu forced me to build in some trickjumps, while I was always busy doing detailing. But he was right, so I have risen down some parts of the bridges on the side, done some dangers in the water, and build an angle over the middlebridge, which is hard to reach, but you can jump on it. Just try a little harder. It costed me some time to make the textures, and although they dont fit totally exact, when you look to near, I think that in the end they complete the sight of what in the end became a mayan temple. I included the screenshot which will be shown on load of the map: called Matok Since then looking forward to end of contest, Cu all > nothing Attachments:

nice map: watch the texture repetition and work on the lighting and mood. Reminds me of Mach2
