you live by a river but u ant got no ships and next time the post card sounds show the edge of the map , loses its postcardish feel also seeing some screenshot of some of the buildings and inside and basic layout would be nice ... at some point of course ;p chasester

It seems to be a nice map, but it also looks like the map is missing details. I think some houses could use some details to make the a bit more identical to others. Maybe you should observate the map "carribean".

@ Chasester : A ship has already been planned but isn´t finished yet. Thx for notice @ Suicizer : The map should keep this "clean-style" a bit. But you´re right, that some details are missing. But there´s one detail i really love : - at the postcard you can see a little church-tower in the background. Inside the tower , there´s a little bell with sound At the moment i´m working on the sounds and i already got some : - a water sound for the beach - the bell sound - a little choir which comes out of the church - wind Some basic information : - Momentary WTR is 69 - Terrain took me the most time - there will be up to 9 bases at the map More information will come soon Greetings Mysti

any flags ?? ;D no really great looking map ive not seen too much of the town but it looks simlar to many of the maps generated from the rpg craz great work chaseseter

Well , you wanted some layout snapshots , so i did some ;D Picture 1 (from left to right , up and down) : This picture shows where it is possible to walk : - Inside the houses -On the roofs -On the floor Picture 2 (right , up ) : This is a really interesting spot , because a base is planned here. Why is it special ? It is a multi-accessable building , where you are able to get on the roofs (twice through the windows, to get on the floor , to get to the beach or to get back on the floor. Picture 3 (left , down) : It shows the biggest building at the map inside with a lot of decision of choosing the way you want. Picture 4 (right, down) : This is another interesting spot : A cave which connects different stages (roof, ground, middle-stage) without being too narrow. Well , you see there is missing a lot of the lightning and detailing. This will be done at the last weeks before the contest ends (from now on) and in the end i hope to present you a fresh new experience with the typical mysterious designical parts. I dont know your house , but mine is white with some wood on it , not more But maybe you are right and i should add more variance (btw i used vlayer for the ground ....looks great thx to your tutorial on youtube XD) Greetings Mysti

OMG ! After days of working i had a day-themed map and it looked quite bad too me. I deleted every light i saw and started again . I tested some night-themed lightning and it looked much better , but the problem : I want to have the moon as sun (with light) , but if i create a sunlight in the right color , it is much too bright. At the moment i tested it with skyligh , but can you see those yellow points ? Is there anybody out here , who can help me pls ? Greetings Mysti Attachments:

Yep I know this problem and its quite common.
A tip: How larger the area, how harder to light properly.
There is an exeption on that, wich is 1 big primairy light that's standing far away from the geometry.
I would suggest to take a light like 100 80 60 as "moonlight" (just an example, take any other low value anyways).
I recommend you take daylight theming again, since it's easier to light something bright, than light something dark, but still sightable.
If you would post the map, I could take a look at it and tell some more...

Expanding on what suicizer said:
I find it to be good practice to use a dominant light for night time ( moonlight, if there's a moon ) and then use a very dim skylight for ambiance. If your skylight is dim, with the right amount of blur applied it can really help.
