About the map: I would like to build a capture map, as small as possible to contain 6 or 7 bases. I wants a gameplay inspired from nevil_c, where in the central bases there is the possibilities to move from one to another so that there isn't a linear chain. But, in the opposite the map will be indoor, so you will move to rooms to rooms, and from a base you can't see the rest of map nor camping. Also, I don't wants to put powerups, or putting them only in very hard to reach areas, cause i think QD and YA are a great advantage, and the game is smoother without...
Settings and theme: i like maps which looks like maps, where is clear that they are especially build for gaming, they are not a temple, nor a factory, nor something else. For this map i wants to have an underground theme, so i can have enough rooms going down in the deepest deep... Another map with a similar theme is impulse by Ace which easy represent what i'm talking about. You will almost never looks at the sky here.
Layout: so basically i hope to put 7 bases in 3 level of altitude, hope also this .jpg is untestable:
there will be a teleport from 6 to near the 1 and from near the 7 to 3.
7 and 6 will not face of course.
If i have to remove a base it will be the 4, followed from 6 or 7
All bases will have randoms weapon, i think it can give some interesting games and possibilities.
this .jpg is not related to the .ogz map - is only a screech i will start editing at the right time
Texturing: i love trak5 ones, to give the map a clean looks, because i like to details using geometry (in a geometric way) more than textures and them are barely color. And a desaturated color, possibly.
But i don't wants to give a too modern looks to the map, i would like to remove the time factor from it, but i will probably have to do simply for justify all the lights. So I'm thinking to use instead some brick textures, like the egyptsoc ones, with opportune mad tuning to desaturate them; or some metal from rorschach. Now you will say: don't mix the 3 sets! But how to resist it?
